Amigurumi Red Panda
It has been previously placed in the raccoon and bear families, but the results phylogenetic analysis provide strong support for its taxonomic classification in its own family (wiki).
I always love bear, and the furry animals. But I'm really not good at creating amigurumi animals. My first try was a red panda, which was made in November 2013. At that time, I haven't been crochet too long, so I was not very satisfied with it, but still it looks cute.
So I write this pattern down, and share you here for free.

Materia

Size
Use the material above, the finished red panda is about 6cm tall.You can also use any yarn and material you like. Just remember to adjust the size of your hook.

Muzzle
Use white, ch 3R01. sc in the 2nd ch; sc 3 in the 1st ch; sc 2 in the 2nd ch
R02. sc 2, (sc, hdc, sc) in the next stitch, sc 2, (sc, hdc, sc) in next stitch
R03. sc 10
Break yarn, leave a long tail for sewing.
Embroider nose and mouth.
Sew the muzzle between R07-10 of the head.
Ears (make two)
use white, ch 3Rw01. sc 2, ch 1, turn
Rw02. dec, ch 1, turn
Rw03. sc around, totally 7 sc.
Break yarn, leave a long tail for sewing.
Arms and Legs (make four)
use black.R01. magic ring, sc 6
R02-04. sc 6
Break yarn, leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew the arms between R16-18 of the body, distance between two arms about 6 stitches.
Sew the legs between R21-24 of the body. Distance between two legs about 5 stitches.
Tail
use red/orange and blackR01. red, magic ring, sc 6
R02. red, sc 6
R03. red, [sc 2, inc] *2 (8)
R04. black, [sc 3, inc]*2 (10)

Break yarn, sew the tail between R04-06 (count from bottom up).
Black Eyes (make two)
use black, magic ring, sc 6.Break yarn. Sew the black eyes between R05-08 of the head. Distance between two black eyes is about 4 stitches.
Put the 2mm eyes on the black eyes.
White hair on the face (make two)
use whitech 4.
sc in the 3rd chain (2nd chain from hook).
hdc 2 in 2nd chain.
sc in 1st chain.
slst in 1st chain.
Break yarn, sew it beside the black eyes, between R04-08 of the head.
Use the tail to embroider the "eyebrows".
